The MOTIVEM Academic Council is made up of teaching staff from the University of Valencia who support the dynamisation of this initiative. Its main functions include providing academic support to the programme management and representing it in external activities, making proposals for improvement based on the experience of the MOTIVEM teaching staff and adjusting the MOTIVEM activity schedule to the academic calendar.
MOTIVEM is a longstanding programme that was born in 2009 with the aim of providing teaching staff at the University of Valencia with the tools to motivate students on the path of entrepreneurship by enhancing skills related to entrepreneurship and creativity in the classroom.
As Vice-Principal for Innovation and Transfer, and as head of MOTIVEM, it is a pleasure for me to present the results of the 2024 edition. In this edition, 30 teachers have participated in the MOTIVEM School, the first phase of the programme, and 167 teams in MOTIVEM Ideas, with the involvement of 700 students and 151 ‘motivated teachers’. This shows higher participation, in both segments, than in the 2023 edition, once again including participants from all the centres of our university.
It should be borne in mind that MOTIVEM activities are carried out in parallel to the usual teaching and research activities of the teaching and research staff, and the regular studies that the students are taking. I am positive that this effort, which affects the daily activity of teachers and students, is possible thanks to the special commitment, forged between our ‘motivated’ teaching and research staff and the team that coordinates it, is, without a doubt, the heart of the programme. This commitment is reflected in the programme’s motto: “MOTIVEM: Teaching staff and students, an innovative creative tandem”.

I would like to thank all the centres of our university, the Academic Council, the ADEIT Foundation and, above all, the teachers and students for making MOTIVEM their first contact with the University of Valencia’s entrepreneurship circuit, and I encourage them to continue developing entrepreneurial skills through the University of Valencia’s entrepreneurship unit, UVemprén.
Thanks also to the Generalitat Valenciana and the Fundació ‘la Caixa’ for their continued support for this valuable initiative, in this edition through the Directorate General for Entrepreneurship and Internationalisation and CaixaBank.
